Account Director

Locations: you can be based from our Leeds or Sheffield - travel will be involved to the customer base across the North East region
Why this job matters
The Account Director is responsible for profitably retaining, developing, and growing a portfolio of the largest and most complex local government existing accounts within the North East region.
What you'll be doing

• Develops effective, multi-layer relationships with customers, demonstrating knowledge of their business and decision-making process, to add value and become a trusted partner.


• Proactively develops a strong understanding of the customer's requirements and transformational roadmap, ensuring robust account development plans exist and accurately portrays the competitive landscape and how BT is positioned within it.


• Defines, develops, owns key customer relationships and contact strategy, and drives customer satisfaction improvements increasing Net Promoter Score within the account.

What we'd like to see from you

• Over-achievement against targets and a proven track record successfully selling large, complex IT/technology contracts within public sector, and ideally within local government.


• In-depth knowledge of the local government sector landscape, including trends, challenges, government initiatives, funding programmes and innovation pilots.


• Existing relationships and senior contacts within the local government sector.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish credibility and build relationships at all levels.
