Full Job Description

As an Assistant Financial Controller, you will need to work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve your objectives. You will need to be approachable, knowledgeable and be able to advise and respond to queries in a professional and courteous manner.

This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and the chance of future development opportunities. This position will be key in delivering accurate and timely financial data and reporting in accordance with the Group Finance Calendar.

Your Responsibilities as an Assistant Financial Controller:

  • Managing day to day workloads for a team of four people.


  • Preparation of monthly management accounts.


  • Reconciliation of all balance sheet items.


  • Cashflow reporting.


  • Co-ordinating monthly forecast and annual budgeting activities.


  • Business partnering the operational team and support functions at JCB Heavy Products. Focus on cost down initiatives, driving efficiency and improving quality.


  • Working with other Assistant Financial Controllers across the UK Group to adopt best practice and standardise processes across all business units.


  • Providing finance support for major capital projects and new product introductions.


  • Ensuring compliance with Group policies and regulations.

    We are seeking candidates who are Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). Strong excel skills are essential as is previous experience of working within a similar role. A background in Manufacturing and in using SAP is advantageous but not essential.


  • We are looking for someone who can work within an established team and can deliver continuous improvement - challenging the status quo, problem solving and actively looking to develop more efficient practices. You will have experience of working with high volumes and tight deadlines, whilst demonstrating careful attention to detail and adhering to Group Accounting Policies.
