Full Job Description

You will focus on handling cash belonging to our patients as well as the Charity's business operations. There will also be associated financial administration responsibilities, banking duties and daily reconciliation processes.

This is an opportunity to develop new skills, knowledge and behaviours whilst demonstrating a high level of accuracy and an excellent work ethic.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating effectively with colleagues, patients and external parties. Meeting face to face to share information and help resolve issues.

  • Processing cash transactions accurately and delivering a high level of customer service to patients and wards, being a key point of contact for all finance related enquiries.

  • Preparing banking documentation for Cash in Transit collections/deliveries and banking at the local branch.

  • Assisting in the daily cash reconciliation process.

  • Processing regular reports from the patient monies software and action where necessary.

  • Assisting in the admission and discharges process, ensuring that patients who are entitled to receive benefits/pocket money do so in a timely manner including raising a request to forward monies on to the patients following discharge.

  • Any other duties as appropriate to the grade as required by the Finance Manager to ensure the smooth running of the Finance Department

  • Working in line with St Andrew's Healthcare policies and procedures, including confidentiality and security of data at all times and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

    You will have a keen interest in developing your financial experience and skills and a clear understanding and experience of MS Office and Excel. You will have GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or equivalent. You will have a flexible attitude, good organisational skills and a high standard of honesty, integrity and fairness. You will be able to work at a high level of acuracy.
