Stretch your technical skills and, alongside world-leading scientists and technologists, shape projects that improve lives, and daily life, in the UK and far beyond., We now have two exciting opportunities for an ambitious Construction Project coordinator to join our Estate development Project Management team. Based at our Harwell Campus, the role will be supporting the delivery of a portfolio of significant construction projects worth circa £250m, developing new state-of-the-art scientific facilities of national and international importance.

Estates Services team are looking for a capable administrator to join our friendly, established Project Management group. As a group, we work closely with internal clients, external consultants, and contractors to deliver a programme of new and improved buildings and infrastructure. You will aid in the management of schemes typically in the region of £5m-50m and will include managing a significant portfolio of lower-value works too. The nature of STFC's science dictates that most major projects are likely to be complex, unique and usually delivered at pace to stringent end user requirement.

Super organised and enthusiastic, you will be an integral part of the team, helping ensure that projects run on time and to budget. You will interact with numerous people daily from inside and outside STFC, and you will often work autonomously on your given tasks.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate and consistent project financial information. Reporting financial or administrative issues to the project managers

  • Providing general administration support to the Project Management group as required

  • Acting as a central point of contact for project queries.

  • Using templates to create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Ensuring project documentation is updated and version-controls. Keeping project records and files in good order.

  • Arranging site access for all external contractors. Organising meetings and booking meeting rooms.

  • Administering consultant and contractor appointments, including obtaining fee proposals

    You will be educated to GCSE level, with A-C in English and Maths (or equivalent) and demonstrate proficient use of Microsoft Office tools.

  • You will have experience working in a project support/administrator/coordinator role, ideally within a property or construction environment.

  • You will be able to demonstrate strong finance and cost management skills, ideally within a project environment.

  • You will be a strong multitasker who can work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including being a solid communicator and demonstrate a high level of customer service.

  • Significant relevant experience of successfully managing multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
