Cook

Duties will include

• Preparing healthy and well-balanced diet for all residents


• complying with all dietary needs for residents i.e. diabetics vegetarian etc as well as offering choice to all residents.


• monitoring kitchen stock


• maintain high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen, To oversee the smooth running of the kitchen


• Ensure kitchen protocol is maintained


• Ensure safe food handling is adhered to ie frozen foods are defrosted before using


• To ensure all meals are ready at the appropriate time


• To offer and prepare, if necessary, at least three main options for lunch each day ensuring that fresh vegetables are used


• To delegate appropriate work to the kitchen assistant as required and monitor that this has been carried out to a satisfactory level


• To ensure cleaning completed as per rota


• Prepare fresh cakes for afternoon tea/special occasions


• Adhere to COSH policies, procedures and documentation requirements


• Complete relevant in-house training in accordance with job description


• Completion of satisfactory DBS checks, Provide support that gives our service users as much control as possible over their decisions, the service they receive, and supporting them to live the life they choose, as well as providing care and support that will help them to maintain their dignity at all times.
  
  We are looking for a passionate cook for our residential home, Experience is desired but not essential as long as you can cook!, Qualities were looking for:


• Good communicator and can lead by example


• Good record keeping skills - documenting information in accordance with guidelines


• Focused


• Genuine passion for food and for our resident's dietary requirement
