Full Job Description

Please note this is a dual role and so the candidate must be GDC registered.

Reception

  • Dual role of reception and dental nurse. The receptionist is referred to as the patient care coordinator, who is the first-person patients will interact with, both face-to-face and over the telephone. They are therefore vitally important to the practice to make a good impression and integral to the smooth running of the practice., Provide excellent customer service to patients and referring dentists, resolving any issues that may arise.


  • Answer basic questions about our services.


  • Ensure the patient journey is followed correctly.


  • Manage multiple appointment diaries.


  • Answer and make telephone calls.


  • Monitor the front entrance.


  • Photocopying, scanning, and printing.


  • Assist with filing documents.


  • Maintain Excel spreadsheets for tracking progress on the patient journey and company goals.


  • Prepare letters, emails, and documents.


  • Comply with all procedures, rules, and regulations within the practice.


  • Nursing

    · To prep the surgery at the start and close of day

    · To assist the dentist in all clinical procedures, such as examinations, fillings, extractions, cleanings.

    · To maintain the surgery in a state of cleanliness to prevent cross infection

    · To maintain instruments and equipment in a safe and sterile state

    · To enter treatment details onto computer-held patient records accurately

    · Prepare materials for use in all procedures

    · Attend to patient comfort and safety

    · Taking and developing dental x-rays

    · Recording patient information and maintaining accurate dental records

    · Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the dental practice

    Sterilisation Room

    Process used instruments and equipment through the sterilisation cycle in accordance with HTM01-5

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.


  • Excellent communication skills, grammar, and punctuation.


  • · Some experience in managing social media platforms

  • Comfortable with technology, including phone systems and Microsoft Office software. Experience in using Adobe Express, Instagram, electronic databases, and computer hardware would be preferable but not essential.


  • Dental knowledge is required, but the right candidate must be willing to learn and adapt.


  • Dependable and organised.


  • Attention to detail is essential as correspondence will need to be proof read for any grammatical and/or punctuation errors.


  • Innovative.


  • Empathetic, confident and a personality that is easy to get along with, as well as having a good sense of humour.


  • Maintain professionalism with patients and referring dentists.

Often patients are very nervous when they visit the dentist for numerous reasons. We are constantly trying to improve on ways we can make patients feel comfortable when visiting us through research, education, and feedback

  • The role is flexible: Monday to Friday from 8:30 am until 5:30 pm between 24-40 hours however, some flexibility is required if appointments run late (until 6 pm, for example). These hours may be flexible and can be discussed further.


  • The rate of pay per hour starts from £13, negotiable depending on experience.


  • We are constantly trying to improve and are keen on someone who wants to improve through further training.
