Full Job Description

You would work directly under the highly experienced General Manager and alongside the Assistant General Manager to ensure the smooth running of the venue and floor service operation. There will be plenty of waiting on during the week, with running floor teams at weekends. Your input towards the future growth and direction of the business will be exceedingly important and we'd love you to bring something you are passionate about with you, to truly make your mark on the place.

· Excellent floor management and waiting on skills, including experience in offering a full table service dining experience

· Experience working at Assistant Manager level

· Experience in using and managing online booking software and managing bookings and orders to ensure the smooth flow of service and to prevent over-loading the kitchen team

· Managing Employees - this is a senior role and you will be expected to develop and support your team, compiling and leading training sessions with the floor staff and helping with rota writing and HR matters

· Customer service - you must be highly customer focussed and able to make guests feel relaxed and welcome.

· Assist the GM & AGM with monthly site audits and take the lead (assisted by the GM & AGM) with Mystery Diners

· Help manage our social media accounts to help grow customer engagement and online business presence

Up to £28k (pro-rata for part-time) + bonus

We're looking for a strong, organised restaurant manager to work with a highly experienced GM. They will take the lead on the food side of this thriving Gastropub, including training and coaching the floor team, driving standards, events and marketing.

The Rising Sun is owned by Abbeydale Brewery so have an excellent local beer offering, but as a progressive venue also a fantastic range of guest beer, quality wine and spirits. We balance this with our high-calibre food offering and need you to ensure our service is well trained, friendly and on-point. We believe in doing things the right way, so all our food is fresh and the vast majority locally sourced, including working with local allotment owners and other independent small businesses.

- Salary plus any overtime to be paid on a fortnightly basis - no extra shifts for no reward

- Good work-life balance, with reasonable working hours and 2 full days off per week

- A balance between day and night shifts, with no open to closes

- Reasonable finishing times - the pub closes at 11pm each day and food service finishes at 9pm Mon-Sat (earlier on Sunday)

- Full training given - Personal license course (if required) plus food hygiene & allergen, beer & cellar hygiene and H+S training all offered as standard, plus a commitment to ongoing training and development

- A progressive and positive work environment that can be flexible around home-life commitments

- Quarterly bonus structure based on Mystery Diner and Site Audit results that can achieve an additional £1200 per annum, We can offer a flexible position with hours to be discussed at interview, part-time applications welcomed. Candidates must be available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Salary up to £28,000 depending on experience (pro-rata for part-time)

Start Date

This is a new position with an immediate start available, but we can of course be flexible to accommodate notice periods.
