Full Job Description

Venturing into new pathways we are looking to appoint a Fire Safety Lead to work as part of Pick Everard reporting to the Head of H&S Services and the wider practice. This role will provide internal expertise across Pick Everard, supporting our business in achieving high levels of safety on our projects.

With a budding network of clients, the successful candidate will work closely with the Director, to lead, shape and develop this new business area.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing strong internal relationships and holding and maintaining a strong internal network.

  • Work with the Director to develop policies, procedures and strategies under a business plan for Fire Safety.

  • Actively seeking out opportunities to drive improvements, leading in their implementation.

  • Support our design services with implementation of Fire Engineered solutions.

  • Review and assess the information provided by external Fire Engineers.

  • Provide expert technical guidance to client queries in both design, construction and in use.

  • Be point of contact for technical queries in all areas of standards across the UK and Europe.

  • Be able to travel across the UK to work in and support our regional offices, this should allow for monthly attendance at London, Leicester / Birmingham, Bristol / Cardiff and Glasgow.

  • Line management when applicable

    Do you want to work as part of a company that prioritises its people?, This role will suit a qualified engineer or professional who has technical experience in fire engineering, design and specification across multiple industries and building types. In particular the candidate must be fully conversant in the Building Safety Act requirements and Fire Safety Regulations.

    We are very open to the industry experience you have, with the main focus on technical capability and supporting in developing our strategy to managing fire safety.

    Key skills we would like you to have:
  • 4+ years' experience in a technical delivery role

  • 2 years in a senior / leadership role

  • Relevant qualifications to include; BEng (Hons)

  • IFE membership

  • Experience in working cross organisation and building strong relationships
