Graduate Scheme at SportPursuit

During this 12-month programme, graduates will engage in rotational placements across three key departments. As a graduate, you will immerse yourself in the operations of a high-energy business, with ample opportunities to make meaningful contributions. The scheme is designed to develop essential skills necessary for a successful career, blending formal training with hands-on experience. We have a strong track record of our graduates securing permanent roles post-rotation, and we are confident this trend will continue.

Departments participating in the scheme encompass Buying, Marketing, Finance and Logistics. This offers all our graduates a unique opportunity to gain invaluable insights into the inner workings of a thriving online retail business.

Departmental Overviews

Marketing - Learn how a high performance acquisition marketing team finds the best new members for the site using paid search and other similar channels. Support in building and optimising performance marketing campaigns whilst also analysing campaign data.

Finance - Learn how money works in an online retail business. Ensure suppliers get paid the right amount on time, help us stay compliant with our international and domestic reporting requirements and support the business in making great strategic and operational decisions.

Buying - As a graduate, you will learn how to present the SportPursuit brand in a strong and compelling manner to the thousands of exciting new brands that are not currently widely distributed in the UK. From sourcing brands to negotiating cost prices, you will perform an active role in the buying team which delivers 100s of exciting exclusive deals each month.

Logistics - As part of the logistics rotation you will be responsible for one of the most critical parts of the business: ensuring our customers get the right products in the quickest time possible. As a part of the team you will be central to the partnership between SportPursuit and our warehouses. On a daily basis you'll ensure potential problems are anticipated, solutions are implemented ahead of time and issues are spotted and solved quickly.

Please note, whilst we have a lovely basecamp in London (by Oval Cricket Ground!) which you are welcome to visit at any time, we're mostly remote meaning that a big chunk of our work is conducted from home. Don't worry we have regular office socials, office days and quarterly socials, including our Summer Sports Day and Christmas Curry (yes you heard right, curry - there's a whole story behind that). Connection is still a big aim for us at SportPursuit but we want to make you aware that some of this will be done over Google Hangouts. This gives you the chance to enjoy #MyPursuit in the evenings and even work abroad for a bit if you're keen to grab a bit of sun whilst working!

As a SportPursuit employee we assume you will have a problem-solving mindset, you will be able to respond to challenges with creative solutions. You will be a team player and will be willing to get stuck in, one of our key values at SportPursuit. We do however require a few specifics from you.

To be successful in this role you must have:

• A Bachelor's degree 2:1 or above (or equivalent). Graduated in the last 3 years


• High attention to detail, finding satisfaction in getting things "right"


• A logical and methodical approach to your work life/studies


• Strong time management skills with a natural ability to multitask


• A 'can do' attitude


• Commercial thinking


• Experience of using Microsoft Excel (we'll test you in a selection of SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, String formulae, VLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH. If you don't know how to do these now, there are some great excel tutorials online)


Nice to have but not essential

• An interest in online retail


• A passion for sport


• A degree in humanities or STEM subjects
