Full Job Description

The position is offered on a permanent basis of 36hrs per week, 6hrs per day, 5am - 11am Monday - Saturday, as a Healthcare Cleaner at The Stoneygate Eye Hospital in Leicester. As a Healthcare Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the hospital premises.,

  • Your day-to-day tasks may include cleaning patient rooms, disinfecting surfaces, sanitising medical equipment

  • High Standard of cleaning duties include: Hoovering, mopping, dusting, sanitising and wiping down surfaces

  • Emptying bins and handling recycling

  • Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas

  • To keep up to date on all mandatory training and certificates (supported by the hospital), including hazardous substances, infection control and legionnaires.

  • Ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

    · Prior experience in a similar role is essential


  • · Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation techniques

    · Ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines

    · Attention to detail and the ability to work as a team and independently

    · Good communication skills

    · A friendly and professional demeanour

  • Cleaning: 1 year (required)

  • Worked in healthcare: 1 year (preferred)

    The Stoneygate Eye Hospital is situated in the leafy suburb of Stoneygate in Leicester. We have been supporting and working with the local community since 2013. Our hospital is run by a team of University Hospital Leicester (UHL) consultants who are highly experienced in their respective fields of Ophthalmology. Our team is supported by an experienced, friendly, and diverse group of nurses, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff.
