Full Job Description

To support the department by ensuring a clean and safe environment is maintained.
The post holder will work as part of the A&E team, ensuring stock levels are maintained and stored appropriately.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Maintaining the Environment
To establish a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere to patients, visitors and staff.
To respond to telephone calls in a courteous manner.
To respond to patients concerns through communication with nursing staff.
To receive and pass on information to others, maintaining confidentiality.
To ensure personal privacy, dignity and confidentiality is maintained.
To maintain effective working relationships.
To promote effective communication with patients, colleagues, other health care staff and visitors to the trust.
To respond to emergencies as appropriate.
Maintain a professional image at all times.
To ensure all requirements for maintenance/repairs to equipment are reported in a timely manner via the intranet.
To monitor response times for maintenance and repairs and report any issues to the General Manager.
To take responsibility for the drug and staff fridge, i.e. disregard out of date food.
General
To maintain the cleanliness of all nursing equipment and trolleys.
To maintain cleanliness of the department including drugs cupboards, drugs fridges, printers, staff fridges, staff microwaves.
To keep the sluice tidy and clean.
To ensure the stock room is kept tidy, organized and well stocked.
To check Path lab, Pharmacy, HSDU and catheter TTO stock and order as appropriate.
To chase up ordering of stock on behalf of nurses / General Manager.
Inform Ward Coordinator of stock to be ordered on Integra.
To receive and stock PPE.
To ensure that alcohol gel dispensers are cleaned and replenished.
To ensure gloves, aprons and Clinell wipes are replenished.
To stock bloods trolleys throughout the day.
To stock linen and linen bags as required.
To ensure the cost effective use of resources.
Training and Education
Undertake appropriate training for specific tasks delegated by the General Manager, at all times working within Trust Policies.
Acknowledge their limitations in relation to any delegated task that they do not feel competent to perform., Sometimes we get a lot of applications for our roles. South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity to appoint a dedicated, conscientious and friendly housekeeper to join our Emergency department based at Warwick Hospital.
We are looking for an individual who is fully committed to providing a very high standard of work to support the needs of the unit and to meet the high standards required to provide a safe environment for the care of our patients and families.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Operations team and the clinical sisters. The post holder will need to be able to work effectively on their own or as part of a diverse team. The post requires good communication and interpersonal skills. We require someone who is flexible and hardworking and can use their initiative when working under pressure.

Probationary Period
All new staff to the Trust will be subject to a standard 6 month probationary period, the details of which will duly follow in your contract of employment.
