Maintenance Handyman / woman

We need a helpful and resourceful individual to join our team maintaining our care home Meir, Stoke-On-Trent. This is a varied job so you must have good all-round handyman skills and be proactive, organised, good communication skills, kind and considerate of others - most importantly, our lovely residents.

The role covers a wide range of tasks including:

• Equipment repairs and servicing


• Minor electrical works - replacing light fittings etc.


• Repairs and improvements to equipment and facilities


• Plumbing repairs, leaks, blockages, installing new sanitary ware


• Installing & repairing fixtures and fittings


• Painting and decorating


• Fault finding


• Assisting outside contractors


• To carry out and keep up to date the H&S and Maintenance Audit checks on a weekly & monthly basis
  
  Proven experience as a maintenance person or in a similar role


• Strong knowledge of various maintenance and repair techniques


• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively


• Basic understanding of electrical and plumbing


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


• Good communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work independently or as part of a team


• Great organisational skills
