Major Trauma Centre NMTR Data Coordinator

The post holder will play a key role in the coordination of data for Southmead Hospital which is the Adult Major Trauma Centre (MTC) in the Severn Major Trauma Network. Ensuring that clinical information from patient records of all major trauma patients admitted to this MTC is extracted, interpreted, and submitted in line with national deadlines, guidance and requirements for the National Major Trauma Registry (NMTR). The MTC is part of the Severn Major Trauma Operational Delivery Network and therefore there is a supportive component to the extended Trauma Units and Children's Major Trauma Centre which are within the Severn network.

This post also requires providing efficient and timely administrative duties to the Major Trauma Centre (MTC) Management team and Major Trauma Practitioners (MTPs). The Major Trauma Service delivers a 7-day a week service and therefore the post holder may need to be part of occasional weekend cover as part of a rota,

• Data inputting and collection from patients notes


• Completing database


• Running reports


• Liaising with other hospitals and TARN team


• Supporting the Major Trauma Service and the NMTR Team with administration duties


• Taking notes


• Answering the phone
