Our primary objective is to excite and educate our valued customers about Sky's top-tier content, channels, and services. As the Media Planning Lead (Airtime & Projects) you will report directly to the Head of Promo Planning, leading and inspiring the Airtime Management team in optimising, analysing, and testing our on-air and on-demand promotional campaigns.

What you'll do:

  • Lead a team of managers and execs - responsible for a number of operational, time-sensitive processes to get our promo campaigns on-air and delivering against targets.

  • Steer the campaign testing roadmap - be at the forefront of our campaign A/B testing, spearheading the search for the most effective on-air strategies.

  • Be the expert on our targeted promotions - oversee your team responsible for the optimisation and execution of our machine-learning recommendation model, helping to drive customer engagement through precision-targeted advertising.

  • Performance accountability - own the department KPIs and be accountable for your team delivering to our challenging targets every week, ensuring we are forecasting our inventory accurately and delivering efficient & effective campaigns.

  • Supporting the Head of Department with stakeholder and senior leadership requests that frequently come into the team.

  • Identify and execute workflow changes and improvements that support efficiency and optimization of campaign delivery.

Outstanding communicator: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. A proven ability to craft compelling narratives and convey complex ideas to senior stakeholders and leaders with clarity and conviction.

  • Excellent collaborator: Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate with colleagues with a range of expertise (e.g. developers, analysts, marketing etc).

  • Management skills: With a track record of experience in managing, mentoring & coaching others, you must be able to consider the objectives and output of your team as well as handling your own workload.

  • Technical aptitude: You will need to gain a deep understanding of a number of new systems and operational workflows and be comfortable contributing to technical conversations as you manage and improve upon them for your team's benefit.

  • Analytical skills: You are extremely comfortable with numbers and data with a proven ability to draw insights from large amounts of data. Deeper analytical and data visualisation experience is a bonus (Big Query, SQL, Tableau etc).

  • Industry expert: Demonstrated knowledge of how linear broadcast and on-demand TV works. A familiarity with media planning practices as well as the tools and software used (e.g. Techedge, Advantedge/BARB) is a bonus.

  • A passion for TV: Our team sits at the heart of Sky's amazing content, as such a wider knowledge & passion for the broader TV landscape is a requirement.

  • IT skills: Master advanced Excel techniques and handle voluminous data with ease, empowering yourself and your team to excel in their tasks.
