Full Job Description
- Learn electrical and mechanical skills from experienced time served mechanical and electrical/instrumentation Engineers to enable them to carry out planned and reactive first line maintenance tasks.
- Work closely with the Operations department to develop an understanding of how the power station generates electricity that is distributed to the grid system.
- Support the site team in the day to day running of the power station.
- Undertake training to fully understand how a power station generates electricity that is distributed to the grid system., This role could lead to full time employment within WBOC in one of the departments that is most suited to the individual, most likely Operations or Maintenance. For the right candidates, further education and development would be an option for future career progression into Engineering and Management.

Western Biomass Operating Company (WBOC) is an operations and maintenance company that holds a 20-year O&M contract to operate the Tilbury Green Power Plant on behalf of the plant owners located in Tilbury Essex within the port of Tilbury. WBOC is owned by Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor A/S (BWSC) & Aalborg Energie Technik (AET) who both are based in Denmark who provide O&M services within the power generation sector. Tilbury Green Power Plant is a 41.5MWe power plant that that burns 300,000 tonnes of waste wood every year which supplies renewable energy to approximately 97,000 homes.
