Full Job Description

Manheim Vehicle Services is an evolving business supporting customer de-fleet, multiple remarketing channels and a complete range of vehicle preparation services. This requires an agile and responsive operational function able to support a variation of process.

As we develop the range of services delivered and expand our customer base, the operations team including gate-in, Swift or other defined processes, inspection, imagery and all variations of vehicle preparation, need to deliver these services within SLA and to a very high standard.

Team members are responsible for ensuring all processes within their department run efficiently and support the smooth operation of the day-to-day function. Ensuring operational and customer service excellences are met at all times.

Scope of Role:

The role of Operations Manager is essential to the success of the Bruntingthorpe site. You will have proven experience in a production environment with good knowledge of the automotive industry.

You will be required to manage and drive all aspects of vehicle process management on site. You will ensure all vehicles are processed as determined by the specific customer process required and managed through the process efficiently and effectively, in line with standard operating practices and HSE requirements, always providing customer service excellence.

Objectives for Role:

  • Effectively lead the team in ensuring that the department achieves its goals and customer satisfaction at all times.

  • Deal promptly with any people issues within the team, liaising with the HR Business Partner for any complex cases.

  • Promote team members engagement within the Vehicle Process.

  • team, reward and recognising achievements and implementing methods to increase and maintain team member morale.

  • Continually assess ways of working to ensure the site is maximising efficiencies working closely with the other team leads to understand what the daily impact of vehicles will be.

  • Effectively communicate and undertake structured meetings to ensure all Vehicle Process team are continuously updated.

  • Ensure the efficient and effective flow of vehicles around the site at all times. and address any issues that may arise.

  • Continuously review the vehicle process ensuring efficiencies are maximised and take appropriate action to remedy any issues.

  • Demonstrate effective workforce planning by organising work whilst assessing resource requirements to meet unit movements, ensuring cost effectiveness.

  • Ensure effective key security within the site.

  • Continuously drive customer service, ensuring customer/internal complaints/queries are investigated thoroughly.

  • Ensure stock control and management is conducted regularly.

  • Responsible for the co-ordination of Health & Safety for site operations.

    Previous experience within an automotive and production role.

  • Knowledge of headcount management and budgeting.

  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams.


  • Proven track record of working within and meeting SLA and KPI requirements.

  • Proven experience within an Operational/Production environment

  • Background in a fast-paced business environment

  • Proven track record of improving performance and profitability through process efficiency.
