Full Job Description

We're on the hunt for a fully qualified Paraplanner to join us at KBA and will be responsible for the collation information to create financial plans and specialist reports, keep knowledge up to date and do fund and product research, sit in client meetings where appropriate, tax year planning and support the admin team with client support where required.

Day to Day Accountabilities

  • Provide technical, research and administrative support to the planners to develop suitable client recommendations.

  • Produce all relevant paperwork and regulatory requirements for the planner to present potential solutions to clients.

  • Create financial plans and cash flow forecasts.

  • Keep knowledge up to date on fund research.

  • Assist with fund and product recommendations.

  • Assist with tax-year planning.

  • Sit in client meetings and deal with any follow-up for the planners.

  • Produce compliant and detailed client suitability reports where required.

  • Assist in the management of client relationships, including attendance at client meetings, receiving client phone calls, and providing information of a technical nature if requested.

  • Produce regular client portfolio reviews and technical and industry updates with relevant additional commentary to support the client proposition.

  • Liaise on a proactive basis with the planner on a regular and structured basis to work on cases and provide updates.


  • Key Responsibilities

    Contacting prospects or clients to:
  • Arrange meetings and update current information.

  • Answer general questions about financial planning or technical elements of the clients' arrangements.

  • Gather necessary information from client so that a financial analysis can be completed.

  • Review the client's financial statements, legal documents, and other data.


  • Prepare summaries of:
  • The client's goals and objectives and their present situation

  • The effect of their current arrangements on future circumstances using relevant financial planning tools

  • Prepare detailed options for the planner to consider in supporting the client's financial planning objectives.

  • Prepare calculations summarising the client's investment management needs, critical illness, disability, and life insurance needs.

  • Prepare proposals for the solution that the planner has selected for the client, including approved product illustrations and literature, and establish details on the chosen investment platform where applicable.

  • Act as point of technical expertise for the practice, updating the Planner on any relevant information or changes that may impact on client management or recommendations.

  • Manage the delivery of ongoing service requirements, maintaining accurate OWS and CRM records.

  • Produce client-facing material in preparation for ongoing service meetings.


  • Additional Responsibilities Where Required
  • Process new business applications, establish, and maintain CRM and platform records for new clients.

  • Update client CRM, platform, and provider records where appropriate to ensure correlation with the internal CRM.

  • Provide efficient resolution to client queries and ensure clients receive effective communication regarding case processing.

  • Manage proactive client communications, ensuring the practice delivers service requirements in line with the practice client proposition.

  • Liaise with Openwork and key providers to ensure all practice material is relevant and up-to-date and all practice members are aware of changes and updates. Act as the primary point of contact with providers and Openwork for issue resolution and disputes.

  • Lead and develop proactive marketing to new and existing clients, recognizing opportunities and marketing to clients accordingly.

  • Manage the role in line with practice budgets and work proactively with the planner to improve efficiencies in client management and the practice process to improve practice profitability.

  • Research and evaluate external developments in their own specialist area and recommend ways in which the practice may benefit from their implementation.

  • Deliver projects within your own specialist area to meet defined business objectives.

  • Compliance: understand and adhere to the practice and Openwork's systems and regulatory requirements, and, where appropriate, comply with all relevant regulatory policies. This includes the completion of any mandatory training requirements.

  • Financial Controls: Ensure all expenditure commitments (orders, contracts, budgets, etc.) and all payments are properly authorised, controlled, and monitored in accordance with delegated authority requirements.

    At least 2 years' experience in a Financial Services administration/ paraplanning role.

  • Have the level 4 CII diploma.

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.

  • Working knowledge of Office 365.

  • Working knowledge of Platforms.
