Full Job Description

  • Hybrid working (2 days from home and 3 days a week at either our Edinburgh Park, Newcastle or Maidenhead office)

  • First People Analyst role with Pulsant - discover insights that inform and impact on our HR and talent acquisition strategies and processes

  • Join a company focussed on wellbeing and career development, The newly created role of People Data Analyst will sit at the heart of our People Team, working in People Operations, alongside our Talent Team and Business Partners. The primary focus of this role is to unlock valuable insights through meticulous data management and reporting, providing insights that help us to understand the trends and dynamics of how our people are feeling. Your work will inform our decision making and people agenda across key strategic areas such as workforce planning, talent acquisition, engagement, diversity, and inclusion. In addition, you will be a key contributor in an upcoming project to migrate to a new People system and ensure consistency, quality and accuracy of the data and improved reporting. This role offers potential for full time or part time working., Reporting and Analysis:

  • Collate, analyse and report on people data in order to provide the wider team/business with clear and visually appealing information. This will include board reporting packs, ad hoc and statutory reporting.

  • Design and develop standardised People reports and dashboards to help provide valuable insights into key people metrics, including survey results to help drive action plans.

  • Bring together multiple data sources (including a combination of quantitative and qualitative data) to reveal patterns, correlations and explain any unexpected variances.

  • Enable and unlock data and insight to inform our key people analysis priority areas in particular workforce planning, talent acquisition, engagement as well as diversity and inclusion.

  • Utilise a range of analytical tools to investigate trends and opportunities, incorporating business wide issues into the analysis and outputs in order to promote effective and business led decision making.


  • Data Quality & Assurance:
  • Develop and implement data quality standards and procedures to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of People data.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of People data to identify and resolve any discrepancies and anomalies.

  • Collaborate with stakeholder to establish data validation processes and ensure adherence to data governance policies.


  • Data Migration Management:
  • Support the People team with preparing and cleansing data for migration into the new People System (HRIS). Lead the data migration process to transition People data to a new People platform, working closely with external vendors to map data fields, perform data cleansing and ensuring a smooth migration process. Monitoring the data migration progress, troubleshooting issues and implementing corrective measures as required.


  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Undertake external benchmarking activities to support trend analysis and the provision of leadership information and staying abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in People analytics and data management.

  • Liaise with the People team and wider business to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities and data accuracy and efficiency further systems integration work where appropriate.

    Advanced analytics skills

  • Advanced user of Microsoft office packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proven understanding of relational databases and general data management.

  • Ability to communicate outputs clearly, summarising disparate or complex data into easily understood reports using charts, tables and narrative as appropriate.

  • Experience working in a fast paced, commercial businesses with a flexible attitude and willingness to adapt to change

  • Experience of using and maintaining HRIS/equivalent systems and generating reports would be beneficial but not essential
