Full Job Description

To ensure that the company is sourcing all day to day resources of plant, transport and consumables efficiently to meet operational requirements., Plant and Equipment:

- Control of all owned plant

- Allocation of plant and equipment to teams to ensure maximum optimisation of owned plant including re-allocation of repaired items and maintain appropriate records

- Organise general and breakdown repairs with plant fitter and monitor repair service

- Organise maintenance schedules for all owned plant and equipment including new additions and maintain appropriate records

- Organise annual service and statutory inspections of major items such as winches, cranes, excavators and lifting equipment

- Organise monthly team audits with Supervisors to assist with control of plant movements

- Monitor and record Cable Avoidance Tool usage to ensure compliance with safe excavation practices

- Maintain a database of all owned plant and equipment

- Provide weekly external hire reports for Directors

- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards

Transport and Vehicles

- Organise repairs and recovery of breakdowns

- Organise necessary repairs as required including faults reported on Daily Defect Reports

- Plan, organise and record service schedules, MOT renewals and planned inspection of owned and externally hired vehicles

To undertake any other contract administration duties as required

To help develop procedures and processes to improve the overall efficiency of the business

To hold a full UK driving licence.

To communicate in person and on the telephone with colleagues, work sites and developers, customers and visitors in a friendly and positive manner.

To undertake such staff training and development, which may from time to time be required.

To work as part of a team representing the interests of the business.

To promote the business in a friendly and positive light at all times.

To maintain a general level of tidiness in work areas, and ensure punctual time-keeping in accordance with contracted hours.

To carry out any other such duties commensurate with the nature of the post and which may be required from time to time.

Responsible to the Office Manager.

Working hours are open to discussion, 5 days a week preferably working 8:00am - 13:00pm however this can be discussed on interview.
