Practical Course Coordinator (Veterinary)

1. General administration for practical courses, dealing with delegate enquiries and registrations.

2. Prepare and set up practical room for courses, including laying out of relevant equipment, preparation of cadavers and care/maintenance of surgical equipment.

3. Clean down after practical course delivery and process cadavers for cremation.

4. Liaise with speakers regarding accommodation requirements, equipment requirements and providing notes.

5. Liaise with sponsors regarding their attendance at relevant courses and ensure they are fully briefed regarding dates, times, and requirements.

6. Liaise with Head of Practical Delivery to confirm/cancel courses as required.

7. Attend Improve Veterinary Education courses at venues around the country.

8. Actively promote future courses with all delegates attending Improve courses.

9. Support with overall running of Sheffield venue and ensuring practical courses run successfully.

10. Supporting with financial enquiries.

• 1. Qualified to Level 3 or equivalent experience is essential.


2. Familiarity with current surgical procedures in practice and associated instrumentation and equipment preferable.
3. Demonstrable interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with individuals, customer needs, and groups at all levels.
4. Good organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and to achieve deadlines.
5. Good IT literacy is essential, and knowledge of database software an advantage.
6. Able to lift light equipment and heavy items in preparing room layout.
7. Flexible and willing to work some evenings and weekends, with occasional travel.

Education:

• Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)


Experience:

• Veterinary experience: 1 year (required)
