Iress Product Managers are responsible for understanding the needs of our users, our customers and the wider market to ensure we build the right product solutions at the right time, all the time. They act as Subject Matter Experts and provide business insight to inform product designs by working closely with the engineering teams to ensure successful alignment of our customers and users expectations.
This is an exciting period of growth for our Mortgages business where we are seeing high demand for our market leading sales and origination software, MSO. As a result we are seeking a product manager with experience of working with UK mortgage lenders and engineering teams to build software used by mortgage brokers, advisors and mortgage operations teams.
This position would suit someone already working in the mortgage industry, in a product management or software delivery role.
Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on...

  • Execute the mortgages product strategy and product roadmap

  • Ensure alignment on product strategy with the engineering team, peers and internal stakeholders

  • Be the 'go to' expert for the intermediary and direct sales channels, providing consultancy on it's adoption and use to both our clients and internal teams

  • Lead research activities with our intermediary sales channel users, and partner effectively with UX designers, helping to define the problems/user journeys we should be seeking to understand, and to validate decision-making

  • Produce discussion papers on the impact of regulatory change and mortgage market trends, and obtain client feedback to shape future product development.

  • Produce compelling business cases & rationale for all potential product roadmap items.

  • Elicit and document the product requirements & communications for new feature development, ensuring consistent and relevant messaging and language.

  • Gain engineering team alignment at the outset of new feature development, and provide expertise & support through the development lifecycle.

  • Contribute to, and validate the planning activities for all inflight and future product roadmap items.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders who test, implement, promote, train and support intermediary and direct sales.

  • Make effective use of web analytics to analyse and report on product performance.

  • Define, monitor and promote product metrics on how well our solutions deliver value to clients.

  • Be aware of what's happening in the industry to ensure design decisions are informed wherever possible using client and industry data sources

    Extensive experience of mortgage software solutions used by either mortgage brokers and/or advisors, either as a business user or in a business/solutions/analyst/ product management role

  • Working knowledge of 3rd party integrations utilised as part of the mortgage journey from initial customer contact through to funds release (e.g. CRM, Credit Decision, Valuations, Conveyancing).

  • Demonstrated understanding of most product management principles

  • Skilled in delivering engaging software demos across a range of stakeholders including account managers, clients, prospects, executives, key decision makers and end-users.

  • Ability to analyse and document business processes to determine product improvements & desired outcomes

  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure

  • Ability to think analytically and be a problem solver

  • Good research skills with the ability to assimilate information from a variety of sources (clients and account managers; quantitative data; research reports; market trends; competitive analysis).

  • Demonstrated ability in pulling off that delicate balancing act of prioritising competing opportunities (including evaluating customer needs with our business priorities)

  • Demonstrated understanding of how costs to develop and maintain products impact decision making
