We are seeking an enthusiastic project manager to drive forward the implementation and delivery of our accommodation improvement programme.

The role is for 9 months maternity cover., The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of project management including managing workstreams to support the development and implementation of projects including:

  • applying structured and systematic approaches to delivery of the workstreams, determining appropriate outcome measures and key milestones to track progress

  • analysing information and delivering high quality update reports, as required

  • tracking and reporting on benefits realisation to ensure that the project is achieving its objectives

  • identifying, recording and addressing project risks and ensuring actions are in place to mitigate significant risks

  • collaborating with stakeholders to ensure seamless management and to contribute to the development and delivery of the best possible solutions.

    The role sits within Cambridgeshire County Council's Programmes Team, who work collaboratively across the council and the wider system to plan, implement and deliver the identified outcomes and benefits of the change and improvement portfolio. Using the council's project management methodologies, standards and practice, you will ensure interdependencies are identified and managed, initiate monitoring and control processes, maintain an overview of progress, issues and risks and undertake effective reporting. You will have proven experience of project management in a large organisation, excellent stakeholder management and the ability to work across complex systems to deliver strategic change., You will have a good level of knowledge and understanding of:

  • project management

  • stakeholder engagement

  • reporting and project tools, to effectively manage and monitor projects and workstreams.


  • You will be:
  • capable of coordinating a range of projects of varying complexity

  • organised with excellent time management skills, with the ability to self-direct and work under own initiative

  • keen to support positive project outcomes

  • motivated to make a visible difference to our communities and drive forward change
