Senior Bookkeeper

Manage all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.

Handle VAT submissions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to HMRC

Conduct day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, invoicing and maintaining financial records.

Generate financial reports on a regular basis, providing insights and analysis to support decision-making.

Allocate approximately 5 hours per week for routine bookkeeping tasks during non-VAT months, with a workload ranging from 20-25 hours a month.

Dedicate additional hours for annual reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Flexibility to accommodate increased workload during VAT months, although not overly taxing due to effective systems and processes.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial procedures align with organisational objectives.

Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Attend and support quarterly Trustee meetings and annual AGM.

Do you have experience working with a small busy charity in a Senior Bookkeeper role?, Proven experience as a Senior Bookkeeper, preferably within the charitable sector.

Thorough understanding of payroll processes, VAT regulations, and day-to-day bookkeeping practices.

Proficiency in financial reporting, with the ability to interpret and analyse data accurately.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Familiarity with charity accounting principles and compliance requirements.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team

Proficiency in Sage accounting software and MS Office applications.
