We are seeking a Senior EE Infrastructure Engineer to design and deliver EE architectures and electrical distribution solutions to a variety of engineering projects. This includes EE architecture design and management, creation of electrical schematics and harness drawings, hardware selection and validation testing.

Role Responsibilities:

Design and delivery of EE architecture:

  • Collaborate with engineering organisation in defining EE architecture across projects

  • Document and maintain EE architecture design through appropriate design artifacts and reviews with necessary stakeholders

  • Support testing and V&V as required


  • Design and delivery of electrical distribution systems:
  • Creation and maintenance of EDS architecture based on project requirements and constraints (e.g. cost, quality, time, manufacturing)

  • Design of wiring harnesses within a ECAD environment based on EE and EDS architectures and system designs

  • Selection of electrical distribution components (wires, fuses, connectors)

  • Creation of electrical schematics and harness drawings

  • BOM preparation and management

  • Manage delivery of physical EDS assets (in house and 3rd party supplier management)

  • Testing and validation of systems to internal and corporate requirements

  • Electrical system analysis and resolution skills


  • Other responsibilities as required
  • Preparation of engineering input into the quotation process for new business

  • Contribute to the strategic development of their department in terms of organisation, process, tools and facilities

    Automotive, aerospace or motorsport engineering background (however others will be considered).

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant engineering subject.

  • Experience in a variety of vehicle architectures and networks (including BEV and HEV)

  • Excellent planning and communication skills

  • Systematic thinker with proven problem solving mentality

  • Capable of independent working in a customer-facing environment

  • Coordinate and support junior team members


  • Electrical Systems Engineering:
  • Familiarity with different EE architecture topologies and technologies

  • Understanding of systems engineering principles

  • Familiarity with Functional Safety (ISO26262) standard

  • Hands on experience in harness build, prototype vehicle development and fault finding


  • Software Tools:
  • Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office applications

  • Competent user of Siemens Capital Essentials


  • Desirable Skills / Experience
  • Experience in 3d electrical design (component packaging and harness routing)

  • Experience in low carbon powertrain system design & specification

  • Experience in electrical & electronic systems integration in an Electric and/or Hybrid vehicle environment

  • Familiarity with Hybrid & EV electrical and physical architectures

  • Understanding of Hybrid & EV control systems

  • Familiarity with Fuel Cell electrical systems and powertrains

  • A working understanding of High Voltage standards and practice

  • Experience of diagnostic tools

  • EMC legislation, test requirements and design practices

  • Experience in drawing tools for creation of electrical & electronic system designs (e.g. MS Visio, enterprise architecture, drawio etc.

  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and quality principles (especially related to EE)
