Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Quality technician to join our team in Liverpool. This is a critical role for our factory in which you will actively contribute to the Specialised Nutrition quality ambition to deliver products of consistent, specified quality and uncompromising safety.

You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement and Right first-time culture throughout the organisation.

You will expected maintain and improve quality standards using principles of lean manufacturing techniques / methodologies.

You will also be responsible for ensuring all operations within the areas of responsibility are carried out in a safe manner. To be fully aware of company procedures relating to Fire Evacuation, Accident Reporting, and Food Safety. To ensure all staff behaves in a safe and responsible manner within the area of responsibility.

Attention to detail and excellent communication are a must for this role.

What will I be doing day to day?

Non-Conforming Results (Products/RMs/Packaging/Swabs)

  • Management of the Quality Systems (eg Q-Pulse)

  • Administer NCMR disposition of non-conforming materials.

  • Initiation of SDN procedure for failed batches/materials

  • Ensure all products conform to or exceed the agreed product specifications prior to release.

  • Provide relevant information into the rework process.

  • Devise risk assessments to aid in the assessment of batch release.


  • Driving Improvements

  • Working collaboratively with business units to drive and deliver sustainable results with effective corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence of issues.


  • Reduction in CARs which in turns improves RFT and CONQ


  • Internal Audits
  • Member of the internal audit team. Address any compliance issues and deliver sustainable corrective actions.

  • Carry out routine Factory Standards Audits, inclusive of report writing and follow up.

  • Provide support to the business units to help drive continuous improvement and standards.


  • External Audits

  • Provide support during external audits such as ISO, FDA, SAMR, FSI.

  • Ensure the factory is visually ready to host the audit.

  • Prepare and present data as required.

  • Provide support to the business in closing out any Non-Conformances.


  • Shop Floor Proximity

  • A minimum of 20% of working week present on the shop floor.


  • Gain an in depth understanding of the process flow and equipment


  • Building working relationships with operators and shift leaders


  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to SOPs


  • Sharing knowledge and awareness to operators to drive factory standards


  • Pest Control

  • Point of contact for pest control provider


  • Coordination of all recommendations


  • Ensure compliance to internal and external standards


  • Monthly review meetings with account manager to review established KPIs
