Full Job Description

We are seeking a permanent social worker to work in alongside our new Assessment, Kinship and Support Team. This successful applicant will join a team with a range of roles and responsibilities.

About the role

We are a small team of seven, we are passionate about what we do and are excited to expand and develop our service. This role will predominantly be assessing and supporting Kinship carers and prospective Foster Carers, we are ever expanding our service and are looking for someone who wants to come of this journey with us.

Within our team we are responsible for the following.

  • Assessment of Kinship Foster Carers, this includes Viability Assessments and full assessments.

  • Special Guardianship Support

  • Supervising new Kinship Foster Carers prior to them transferring to Fostering team.

  • Assessment of prospective Foster Carers (Form F assessments)

    This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.


  • Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role., You must be a qualified Social Worker (with a Social Work England registration) and have sound knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, including a clear understanding of Working Together to Safeguard Children.

    You must also have an ability to build effective relationships with children, young people and families.
