Full Job Description

The Modern Languages Teaching Centre (MLTC) seeks to appoint a fixed term Teaching Associate in British Sign Language who will be responsible for convening, developing and delivering German language modules from Beginners to Post Beginner and Intermediate levels, developing and updating materials as appropriate and contributing to the academic activities of the MLTC as a whole.

You will have native or near-native proficiency in British Sign Language with knowledge of current affairs and cultural life in relation to the language, a good track record in teaching the language in higher education for general and possibly specific purposes, and experience of acting as module leader. You will have a degree involving British Sign Language (or equivalent experience), a teaching qualification to BSL Level 6, and a strong commitment to professional development and the delivery of a high-quality, innovative language-learning experience to students.
