Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit Technical Administrators to join our Customer Connections team based in Bristol and near our West Weybridge substation in Surrey. This is a hybrid role which includes a mixture of working from home, site and office as and when required.

This is a key role in which you will be supporting Project Directors, Development Engineering Managers and Regional Portfolio Managers on their administrative led activities.

We own the electricity transmission network in England and Wales. Every time you plug in your phone or flick a light switch, we've played a part. Not only are we responsible for delivering energy to millions of homes and businesses, we are also driving the move to cleaner energy and the Government's target of net zero emissions by 2050.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the storage of data and documentation within designated repository(s) on behalf of the Engineers and Project Managers (including minutes, drawings, records and closures) during project development, delivery and closure.

  • Support the investment process, to include; storage of data (as above), tracking and chasing defined documents from contractors and through any related Operations approvals.

  • Produce, collate and coordinate project and team performance data from Team Hubs and Project Reviews/Audits for senior management teams

  • Perform a technical secretary role for allocated forums/meetings in the region including action monitoring and follow up to achieve satisfactory completion

  • Manage and track progress of documents for closure - monitor performance of all gates and handovers for designated portfolios

  • Coordinate input into lessons learnt repository for designated portfolio assigned for the collation of potential improvements identified through the development, delivery and closure of projects

  • Undertake periodic reviews with key stakeholders, identify appropriate action owners within the business to embed improvements and generate communications to disseminate across Customer Connections (as appropriate)

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficient experience in coordination of Business Systems within a commercial project management arena

  • Experience in document management, including administration of online Collaborative Project Management systems (Livelink, SharePoint, etc. (or similar)

  • The ability to use desktop software packages to coordinate and present management information in numerical, graphical and written formats

  • Ability to use packages to generate reports and interrogate data (e.g., Pivot tables)

  • Knowledge of the Electricity Transmission System
