Full Job Description

The Violence Reduction Partnership Youth Work Programme aims to embed youth work teams within Urgent Care and Emergency Departments at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust (MYTT), to engage with young people aged 11-25 who have been impacted by violence or exploitation who present at the Urgent Care and Emergency Department and/or are admitted to hospital following a violent incident., Urgent Care Youth Workers will be offer trauma informed, emotional and practical support in a non-judgmental way to navigate them way away from violence, criminal activity, or other harms (whether they are a victim, perpetrator, or both). This could include signposting and referring onto statutory or community organisations to help the young person with mental health needs, housing, employment, education and training, substance misuse, relationships and supporting young people to make informed decisions about their next steps.

This is a new role working in partnership with Mid-Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.

The Urgent Care Youth Workers will work alongside the Urgent Care and Emergency Departments at Pinderfields Hospital.
