Full Job Description
As a Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all financial aspects of our business operations. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of the company and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Your duties and responsibilities will include,
- Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software (Sage)
- Uploading from Bigchange (service software) data to sage invoices and sending out to customers
- Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
- Paying purchase invoices directly and to CEDABOND (Buying consortium).
- Tracking bank account balances / Bank reconciliation
- Reporting CIS
- Completing VAT returns
- Processing VAT reversal
- Developing monthly financial statements including cash flow, profit and loss and balance sheets
- Preparing employee wages / payroll (monthly) and checking time sheets (15 employees)
- Entering and managing employee pension contributions (Nest)
- Managing employee expense claims
- Managing and balancing petty cash
- Monthly / quarterly reporting to ESPO and other contract clients as required
- Reconciling Barclaycard PDQ with receipts
- Chasing debtors
- Engineers DBS checks, driving license checks
- Tracking refrigerant cylinders
- Managing fuel cards and receipts from engineers
- Managing checking expenditure on mobile phones
- Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the accountant of any errors
- Helping the Accountant with preparing yearly accounts
