Full Job Description

Join our team as an Admissions Officer! This is a 7-month fixed-term contract opportunity. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing patient admissions and transfers within our hospital. Your responsibilities will include meticulous documentation, seamless coordination with medical staff, and ensuring patients receive timely and personalised care.   • Act as the primary point of contact for patients, consultants, secretaries, third parties, and the public regarding all inpatient enquiries and bookings, ensuring seamless communication and engagement.

  • Coordinate and manage patient admissions and transfers meticulously, completing all necessary documentation accurately and promptly, to maintain operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.

  • Collaborate closely with medical and nursing staff, as well as other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive and timely care and treatment for patients, enhancing their overall healthcare experience.

  • Maintain meticulous and up-to-date records of patient admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring transparency and accuracy in patient management for efficient decision-making and continuity of care.

  • Verify insurance details and communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding financial responsibilities, fostering trust and clarity in financial transactions and obligations.

  • Provide thorough information to patients and their families about hospital policies and procedures, including visiting hours, patient rights, and complaint procedures, fostering a supportive and informed environment for patients and their families.

  • Collaborate effectively with various hospital departments to meet all patient care needs comprehensively, fostering interdisciplinary teamwork and cohesion for holistic patient care.

  • Engage actively in quality improvement activities and ensure adherence to all hospital policies and procedures, contributing to the continuous enhancement of patient care standards and operational excellence.

    Some experience in healthcare administration or a related field is desirable but not essential.

  • Some knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and hospital operations.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in computer applications, including electronic medical records systems.
