Full Job Description

Queen Elizabeth Country Park is Hampshire's largest country park. Located at the western end of the South Downs National Park, the park spans over 2000 acres and is dominated by three hills, the chalk downland of Butser and the beautiful woodlands of Holt and War Down.

Your role will be to carry out a wide range of practical maintenance and conservation tasks at this busy country park and heritage attraction. It will include frequent site patrols and litter picking, site maintenance and the management of site infrastructure. Habitat management will include tasks such as mowing, tree removal, scrub cutting and the application of herbicides.

The post requires a willingness to take on a wide range of support functions such as the maintenance of the workshop, both hand and power tools, and tree safety management., We are a Disability Confident Employer - committed to ensuring that our recruitment and selection process is inclusive and accessible.

Having a flexible approach to work, you will be willing to work outdoors in all weathers both in a team and on your own. A basic level of certification in the use of power-tools such as chainsaws, brush-cutters and mowers is desirable, but training will be provided to the successful candidate. You will have a basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet use and will be expected to use the County Council's online systems.

You will possess good interpersonal skills and be able to undertake the physical requirements of the role. You will also be required to drive a Council vehicle and must hold a current full drivers' licence. There will be weekend working required for this role on a shared rota basis.
