NPL's world leading Radiotherapy and Radiation Dosimetry group provides world-class research, calibrations, specialised measurement services and training for the dosimetry of ionising radiation in cancer therapy and in the industrial sterilisation of medical devices and pharmaceuticals. This is an exciting opportunity for a permanent position as an Assistant Scientist (or Scientist, depending on qualifications and experience) at the National Physical Laboratory. A successful applicant would assist in the development and delivery of a range of medically related measurement services both on-site at Teddington making use of our own state of the art facilities and also off-site at various Medical Physics Departments in UK hospitals.

Applicants should possess a degree in the physical sciences although alternative qualifications and experience may be considered. More importantly, the successful candidate must have excellent attention to detail, good written and oral communication skills, be a team player, enthusiastic, conscientious, a quick learner and be adept at solving a wide range of practical problems. The successful candidate may be required to work off-site for periods of time and may be required to work during evenings and weekends on occasion. They would ideally hold a valid UK driving licence.
