About the Role

The Assistant Technologist is responsible for providing proactive technical and administrative support within the Own Label technical team in the delivery of safety, quality, legal compliance, factory evaluation and inspection requirements against the Key Dates. They will be highly organised, IT proficient, self-motivated and drive efficiency across all tasks.

You will also be responsible for:

Technical Path Adherence - Ensure adherence to the Technical Team's key dates and critical paths.
Fit Session Organisation - Organise weekly fit sessions, maintain a Fit Log, and ensure timely communication with suppliers.
Legislation Compliance - Ensure products conform to relevant legislation and country-specific regulations.
Design Pack Completion - Assist in completing the Technical section on Design Packs for costing and Order Confirmations.
Technical Copy Production - Produce technical copy for packaging, engaging stakeholders and meeting deadlines.
Record Management - Maintain records for each style, including fit comments, test reports, and compliance reports.
Non-compliance Investigation - Assist in investigating non-compliant product issues and manage related stock movements.
Supplier Communication - Maintain effective communication with key suppliers to enhance partnerships.
Audit Monitoring - Follow up on audit documentation, maintain records, and manage corrective action plans.
Sustainability Initiatives - Assist with implementing sustainability initiatives for products, packaging, and production.
Critical Path Monitoring - Check supplier's critical paths, identify issues, and provide feedback to stakeholders.
Strategy and Reporting - Assist in departmental strategy, Design Pack completion, Lessons Learnt, Supplier Scorecards, and Returns summaries.
Competitor Analysis: Compile quarterly reports on competitors' materials, manufacturing origins, accreditations, and innovations.
Training and Development - Foster an educational environment, upskill team members, and contribute to onboarding new employees.

You will be highly organised, IT proficient, self-motivated and drive efficiency across all tasks. You will also be applying the highest standards to deliver Harrods brand values ensuring product is fit for purpose and performs to the required quality standards

You'll also have :

Proven experience in a similar role.
Thorough understanding of garment/product construction, fabric technology & testing, ideally from a premium/luxury brand.
Passion for product and an eye for technical detail.
A technically-oriented qualification, preferably at degree level, is desirable.
Solid understanding of compliance legislation and certification.
Excellent PC literacy, proficient in Microsoft Office and proven experience with Product and PO Management systems.
Strong customer service focus when dealing with both internal and external parties.
Excellent time-management skills and the ability and willingness to multi-task.
