Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a late shift Barrell maker to join our clients team who manufactures incredible niche products in Portsmouth. As a Barrell Maker, you will be responsible for producing high-quality precision barrels in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.,

  • Manual Turning

  • CNC Turning/Milling experience would be advantageous

  • Experience on Protrak and Fanuc would be advantageous

  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure components are manufactured to the correct dimensions and specifications.

  • Conduct regular quality inspections of components during the production process to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Collaborate with production planning and engineering teams to ensure components are produced on time and to the required specifications.

  • Assist with the continuous improvement of production processes and suggest ways to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

    At least 3 years of experience in manual machining

  • Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Experience with precision engineering and manufacturing techniques.

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • A team player with strong communication skills.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required.

  • A police check will be required due to the work that will be done at site.

    This is a permanent position working a 36 hour week Mon - Thurs on their late shift - 15:30 - 1:30am and Thurs - 15:30 - 23:30 - 4 day working week


  • The salary advertised includes a 33% shift uplift on top of the basic rate.
