Building Fabric Supervisor

The primary purpose of this role is to manage the Ad Hoc Small Works and Small Works operations across Alder Hey Children's Hospital as directed by line management. The post holder will be responsible for contributing to the management and implementation of the Ad Hoc Small Works and Small Works for the Trust and to ensure compliance with key standards, both legislative and performance related (as defined through Service Level Agreement).

• Line manage the Small Works Team.


• Manage all multi trade works i.e. water, drainage, mechanical, electricity, data, medical gases, building works including joinery and carpentry works, painting, decorating and floor repairs.


• Contribute to the development, implementation and review of the MITIE's plans, budgets and work closely with the other Managers in the development of works programmes.


• Plan Ad Hoc Small Works and Small Works to support the generation and delivery of the Trust's Plan, including liaison with users and contractors.


• Organise and supervise service shutdowns ensuring contingencies are in place and users' needs met.


• Lead on the implementation/management of the Ad Hoc Small Works and Small Works safe systems of work (e.g. Permit to Work, isolation procedures) under the guidance of AP's to ensure that all safe systems of work are carried out correctly.


• Oversee the management and undertaking of detailed commissioning, snagging, tests, witnessing and familiarisation of minor works projects.


• Responsible for the management of contractors, ensuring quality of specification and workmanship.


• Monitor performance of contractors, taking effective steps to ensure that acceptable levels of service and values for money are achieved


• Actively participate in the wider team operation and control of Ad Hoc Small Works and Small Works schemes and minor TVE's.
