Building and Maintenance Team Leader

Bakers Farms is a large farming business near Haselbury Plucknett, Crewkerne, milking over 2000 cows and operating across several farms. A new position has been created to improve the infrastructure of the business and its on-going maintenance of the estate and facilities. Reporting to the Projects Manager, the Building and Maintenance Team Leader will be responsible for leading a small team on all building projects as well as the routine maintenance and repairs of the buildings and infrastructure. The successful candidate will have proven-experience and a can-do attitude with all general building and repairs tasks associated with properties, large barns or agricultural buildings and will be able to effectively lead a team to complete tasks within suitable timeframes.

The essential skills required include extensive knowledge of general building practices with a keen eye for detail, proven record keeping and leadership experience for managing a team of like-minded people. Budgeting and HR skills are desirable, but training can be given to the right candidate as they develop into the role.

Use of large machinery such as telehandlers and diggers, experience working with concrete, metalwork, agricultural plumbing and drainage, and a basic mechanical skillset all desirable skills.
