Full Job Description

As a Business Development Executive here you'll be responsible for managing inbound leads, qualifying and developing them through conversations with a wide range of prospects from senior management to sales and service teams - it's not "commodity" selling, more building relationships and solving problems.

You'll need solid experience in sales, and be persistent, energetic, highly organised and a strong communicator. It is a great chance to grow your experience in a company that is small enough to be personal but large enough to be making a difference in the market.

What will you be doing ?

  • Initial prequalification of leads as they come in, holding the right conversations and capturing relevant information about the prospect.

  • Managing the conversations to do further qualification using the BANT methodology, bringing in other pre-sales, product or technical resources where necessary as deals move towards a close.

  • Accurate and systematic updating of our HubSpot CRM, "owning" this from the Sales perspective, building your understanding of the tool, and ensuring others update it.

  • Providing the management team with analysis and information on this part of our pipeline to allow accurate forecasting and planning.

  • Intelligently looking for patterns in incoming leads, providing feedback to the Marketing team on the effectiveness of their individual campaigns and messages and helping to shape them.

Experience in a sales environment, ideally technical / telecoms. You'll know how to listen, understand a client's problems, and propose a solution to them. You can be persistent without frustrating senior people - by understanding and relating to their needs and pain-points - and you're not put off by "not now" or silence.

  • You're organised and methodical, prioritizing leads and activities so you spend time on the right parts of the pipeline.

  • Our sales process can be complex, bringing multiple people together within an organisation. You enjoy seeing an opportunity develop while you work with different personas during the sales process.

  • You're willing & able to do some travel around the UK., Business-to-Business (B2B) Sales: 1 year (required)

Highlight is a 23-person cloud software (SaaS) company helping enterprises and service providers run their communications network more effectively, and build better relationships with the people who deliver them. Over 2,500 different organisations currently use our platform, ranging from small businesses up to companies like Shell, Pret a Manger and Asda - with users in over 100 countries.
