Full Job Description

We are actively seeking a skilled and proficient Cable Jointer, along with a capable Jointers Mate, to form a dynamic team serving Guildford and its neighbouring areas. As a Cable Jointer, you'll oversee LV Jointing operations, ensuring the safe and expert installation of jointing activities across various electricity networks. Meanwhile, the Jointers Mate will collaborate closely with the Cable Jointer, offering invaluable assistance in installations, all while strictly adhering to company protocols and safety measures.

So, what will I be doing?

Working within a two-person team, will be carrying out jointing, cabling and excavation work on a pre-planned and quick response basis. You will take responsible for the safety of yourself and colleagues, acting as an ambassador for a strong safety culture in everything you do. You will also:

  • Review and understand work content detailed on plans and drawings.

  • Carry out risk assessments of the workplace

  • To carry out LV jointing works in accordance with safe working practices and in compliance with the adopting DNO's and IDNO'S codes of practice.

  • To ensure the jointing van is kept tidy and that replenishment of consumables is carried out as necessary

  • To record accurately details of work undertaken

    To be considered as a Jointer you must be motivated and hard-working, alongside having a skilled background in HV/LV Jointing. Experience in working with a DNO or IDNO would be fantastic, but not essential. As Jointers Mate, you must have experience working with the Construction, Utilities or Energy space. We are also looking for:

  • Enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing business and project priorities.

  • A high regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines in everything you do is a key priority.

  • Strong communication skills and an ability to convey technical aspects in a clear manner.

  • Cable Jointer - is an essential requirement you have a full UK driving licence.


  • You will also have the below relevant tickets: (desired)

    CSCS Card, Emergency First Aid, Driving License, NRSWA and SMSTS.
