Full Job Description

The CAD Technician role has responsibility for amending, updating, and publishing CAD drawings to the agreed standard. Following a prioritised plan, the role holder will use surveys and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals to identify and correct errors in our master drawings.

It is an exciting time to be joining the Space & Asset Management Team because we are about to implement a new Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system. The CAD Technician will play a significant role in preparing drawings for upload to this system and in embedding the new processes that will ensure the future accuracy of our property data.

You will be proficient in the use of AutoCAD and familiar with the ways in which CAD drawings typically interface with a CAFM system. You will be a team player with the ability to work quickly and accurately on routine tasks.

Educated to BTEC/ONC or higher level, you will have substantial experience working in CAD roles preferably within an Estates department. You will ideally have had training in the use of AutoCAD and will have kept this up to date in line with updates in the AutoCAD software.

You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and will have a robust understanding of best practices in document management and version control.

You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, responding with flexibility to shifting priorities and changes in the urgency of allocated tasks.
