Full Job Description

The Pantry Café within Roomzzz York has very recently opened to customers however we have a big appetite to open longer and open 7 days a week. Our Head of Food & Beverage is looking to welcome an experienced and hands on Catering Supervisor to support the Deli Manager leading Deli and a small team whilst making fresh and exquisite food.

We are located on the riverside in York, just a short 10 minute walk from the centre. We are passionate about coffee and excellent customer service with specially selected coffee beans and a brand new menu. As a passionate foodie we are looking for someone to bring their own twist to the menu as the seasons change.

Responsibilities include crafting delicious sandwiches, wraps, salads and more for our guests! To uphold impeccable cleanliness standards in the kitchen are and ensure adherence to specification sheets for consistent, high quality products every time. Demonstrate accountability and proficiency in both independent work and collaboration within the team!

Demonstrate accountability and proficiency in both independent work and collaboration within a small team whilst working within the Roomzzz Hotel reception area.

Main Duties:

  • Be comfortable working in a busy fast paced environment as well as lone working.

  • Support the Deli Manager in the training and smooth operation of the team.

  • Have a consistent stock level that relates to the business requirements.

  • Produce a consistent product that meets the business criteria.

  • Maintain a safe working environment for self and others.

  • Maintain the high cleanliness standards set out by the management team.

  • Receiving and processing customer payments as and when required.

  • Open and closure of Coffee House as required.

  • Report any challenges or equipment faults timely to management.

  • Accommodate to customer needs and dietary requirements.

  • Support Coffee House Barista on occasion when customer demand requires.

  • To adhere to all company and statutory health & safety requirements.

  • To attend any relevant meetings or training courses as requested.

  • EHO complicit with all paperwork.

    Have a minimum 2 years catering experience

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate

  • Ability to work and thrive within a fast paced environment

  • Good level of attention-to-detail

  • Enthusiasm to develop your skills and knowledge

  • Adaptable to change and willing to embrace new ideas and processes

  • Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work

  • Positive and approachable manner

  • Team player qualities, Catering: 2 years (preferred)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred)

    The hours for this role are full time, 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis. This will include early and late shifts during the week and will include weekends and Bank Holidays.
