Full Job Description

The post-holder will work individually and as part of the team, to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the care home. Ensuring each individual's privacy, dignity and respect are maintained at all times.

Principle Responsibilities
1) The vacuuming of rooms and corridors and emptying all waste bins

2) Cleaning the glass and mirrors

3) Dusting the cobwebs

4) Sweeping and mopping floor surfaces

5) Cleaning the bathrooms and toilets

6) Clean areas as assigned in the daily work log file and sign as completed

7) Ensure that rooms are odour free

8) Report anything in need of repair or replacement to the appropriate person

9) Keep your cleaning area and space clean and tidy at all time and your cleaning materials safely stored

10) Be familiar with the required care standards regulations governing your job for example CQC requirements and COSH regulations

11) Maintain polite and good communication with you colleagues and residents at all time

12) Be prepared to receive and undertake further training as required by the homes needs

The post holder will display an attitude, which fosters good working relationships and empowers clients to make their own decisions as far as is practicable.
They must be versatile and adaptable enough to learn and use a variety of skills.
They must also be able to work as part of an enthusiastic and committed team.
He/she will be responsible to the senior staff that are in turn responsible to the registered manager and will report to either at any given time. He/she will maintain good relationships with all colleagues and will adhere to the requirements of the registering authorities, for example, The Care Quality Commission and the local Social Services Teams. They will also adhere to all policies adopted by Dryclough Manor, particularly in relation to confidentiality and professional behaviour.

Additional Duties:

1) Welcome new colleagues to The Hallamshire and offer as much support as is necessary.

2) Attend staff meetings as required.

3) To participate fully in the staff supervision and appraisal process.

4) To commit to an individual training plan that encompasses all national minimum standards.

5) The necessity to be flexible is of prime importance. All staff will be required to exercise patience and tolerance in the handling of all clients and their visitors, and to provide a service to meet an infinite variety of needs.

6) To at all times promote the image of Dryclough Manor to everyone.

7) Use best endeavours to ensure that morale is kept high amongst clients and staff.

8) To work shifts on rota as required.

9) To undertake any other reasonable duties when necessary at the request of Senior staff
