Full Job Description

1. To action routine police/public telephone calls, identifying suitable departments/personnel that can assist with their enquiries.

2. To maintain effective liaison with internal and external departments and agencies utilising the full range of communication methods available.

3. To deal with confidential material in a responsible manner.

4. To make full and effective use of local computer systems.

5. Educated to QCF Level 2 (Including English Language) plus RSA Stage 1 Typing/Word Processing OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

A minimum of two years experience in the following areas:

a) direct contact with the General Public on a daily basis.

b) switchboard, or other busy inbound call handling environment.
