Full Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled fitter to be based at our Sheffield site, The role will be reporting to the Operations director.

The objectives of the role are to support the sites maintenance plan & improve equipment reliability by carrying out routine preventative & corrective maintenance.

Support the maintenance & operations team and be a central part of the maintenance team by carrying out planned and corrective maintenance on the plants and directed by the team and mangers.

Receive work instructions for routine and unplanned work and carry out the corrective measures required to enable minimum downtime of the plant equipment.

Work effectively as part of a small team or singly as required by the immediate person in charge or as directed by management.

Ensure all the activities are carried out within the company requirements of safety, environment and quality along with performing other duties as requested by the operations director or team lead manager.

Perform planned , preventative & reactive mechanical maintenance across the production plants and equipment.

Remove repair and re assemble conveyor components to include idler bearings, tail drums gearboxes, rollers, skirts etc. the individual must have knowledge of these areas as it is essential for the role.

Good understanding of Health & safety.

Experience and understanding of mechanical fitting and maintenance of equipment including conveyors, pumps, pipework, valves, filter systems, pneumatics, gearboxes etc.

Use pulling and lifting equipment.

experience in the use of workshop equipment.

Mechanical fault finding

competency in basic multi skilling

Experience in working on heavy plant fixed and/or mobile

the successful candidate will ideally have experience in a construction based environment, day to day duties will include proactive measure to ensure efficient running of two concrete production plants along with general plant machinery maintenance and repairs. Candidates newly qualified will be considered. Successful applicants will work alongside our senior fitters & workshop staff as part of a team responsible for the general upkeep of our production plants and equipment. Fork truck license and overhead crane experience would be advantageous but training can also be given.
