Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Contracts Manager as part of SGN's Procurement & Supply Chain function.
Reporting to the Lead Contracts Manager the role will support SGN's Mains Replacement Programme through the development, implementation and ongoing management of post-award contract management processes and procedures.
Focused primarily on the management of key third-party contractors, the role will also support across a range of projects as required.
I help to keep people safe and warm by
- Managing the contract lifecycle, including performance of allocated third-party contractors.
- Supporting the operational onboarding of contractors, as well as the implementation of agreed performance regime/governance.
- Advising on all post contract commercial matters including compensation events, variations, and disputes.
- Promoting safety and safe working practices both internally and externally to improve safety performance.
- Supporting stakeholders through effective identification and management of contractual/commercial risk.
- Enabling the development of relationships between contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Supporting the ongoing development and implementation of SGN's post-award contract management processes and procedures.
- Supporting the wider Procurement & Supply Chain team in the drafting of contracts, management of sourcing activities and development of category management plans.
A Procurement background, or relevant experience/qualification in Contract Management, Supply Chain Management, Quantity Surveying, Accountancy or Legal. - Minimum 2 years' experience in a Contract/Commercial Management or Procurement role.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant conditions of contract.
- Experience of drafting, interpreting, and delivering frameworks/contracts.
- Knowledge of cost/budget management, and contract administration.
- Awareness of the processes relating to sourcing and procurement strategy.
