Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Curriculum Lead for Geography to join our dynamic team of educators. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an engaging and rigorous geography curriculum that inspires curiosity, promoting critical thinking, and prepares students for success both within and beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive and cohesive geography curriculum, ensuring alignment with national standards and the school's educational goals.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design engaging schemes of work, lesson plans, and resources that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.

  • Provide guidance and support to geography teachers, offering coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to enhance their practice.

  • Monitor and evaluate the delivery of the geography curriculum, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for enhancement.

  • Lead the assessment and tracking of student progress in geography, using data to inform instructional decisions and interventions as necessary.

  • Stay abreast of developments in geography education, incorporating new pedagogical approaches, technologies, and resources into the curriculum.

  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider community, promoting the value of geography education and the importance of geographical literacy.


  • Qualifications:
  • Degree in geography Education or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of current geography curriculum standards and best practices in geography education.

  • Previous leadership experience in an educational setting, preferably as a department head or in a similar leadership role.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.

  • Passion for geography education and a commitment to inspiring students in the field.
