Full Job Description

Looking for a committed, caring and flexible Personal assistant to support young person to access
the community for 6/12 hours per week. The post is funded through the direct payments scheme
and is intended to enable this family to manage their support independently. Training can be
provided as required and where available. Must have own transport and a full, clean driving licence.
Experience of Developmental delay is advisable to the role. This post is for someone who likes to be active and be outdoors.

Main duties to include…
I am 15 years old. I live at home with my Mum, da, and younger brother. I have learning difficulties, so I need someone who has some experience in this field.
Shopping, Cinema, walks on the beach, Music festivals gardening, horse riding, make up and going to Aberystwyth for the Arts centre.
I would like someone to be able to take me out to these places for me to have some fun. It would be beneficial to me if this could be weekends in the school term and weekdays in the school holidays.

To support and encourage this young person to gain independence and to enable her to interact
socially within the community.
To support this young person, whilst attending Horse riding sessions, swimming, walking and any other interests.

If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
Please note the Direct Payments Support Service, Ceredigion County Council is advertising the following posts on behalf of an individual employer. You will be an employee of the Direct Payment Recipient and not of Ceredigion County Council.

Supervision is also required as her knowledge of hazards and danger is limited.
Local knowledge of the area and activities available would be an advantage as the hours worked will
be off-site within the community.
Reliable with good time keeping.
Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated.
Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy.
An ability to develop and maintain a supportive relationship.
Good communication and inter-personal skills.
A full driving license and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your insurance to be
able to use the vehicle within work hours.

Llandysul area
Hours are 12 hours School holidays Monday to Sunday. 6 Hours Saturday/Sunday term time.
Rate of pay £12.00 per hour with mileage and expenses whilst on duty.
