We are now looking to recruit an "outstanding and committed" manager for the Education and Support Service in the North East, for 4 days per week; to provide strategic direction, and management of these crucial services for the children. The successful candidate will join a committed and dynamic management team, working creatively and professionally with staff and carers to provide the best possible services for Children in Care.

The team is focused on providing education support, support to young people preparing for independence, and ensuring children contribute to, and are involved in how the services are run. The team also provide outreach support, advocacy, activities and training, which helps create positive outcomes for children, young people and their foster families.

As the ideal candidate you will have demonstrable experience of supporting the educational needs for Children in Care, and of the services available to support these, combined with a wider understanding of a range of methods, and approaches to support children's wellbeing. Experience and understanding of the role of the independent sector in providing fostering services is essential.

Experience of management is desirable, although we are looking for a creative and solution focused leader, who can work with a range of professionals, and partners, to help develop our Education and Support offer. Candidates with skills and experience in education provision, working on wider projects, and strategic awareness would be encouraged.

The successful candidate will be instrumental, alongside the Registered Manager, in designing and developing our provision in line with our strategic developments.

The post is based at our North Shields office; however, you will be required to work flexibly across the North East region.
