Full Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive professional to contribute to the growth of Employability and Careers support across the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The successful candidate will predominantly be aligned to two schools within the Faculty; the School of Biosciences, Geography and Physics and the School of Mathematics and Computer Sciences. Key areas of operation will be to:

  • Prepare students for attaining placements, involving delivery of modules and associated content, oversight of students on Year in Industry programmes and the growth of Year in Industry across the subject areas.

  • Work across the Faculty and wider university to develop and extend a portfolio of existing and new relationships with strategic partnership boards, stakeholders, intermediaries and employers, in Wales, the UK and internationally, to ensure the Faculty meets its strategic targets for employability and placements.

  • Establish networking events and industry visits for the purposes of building collaborations with Welsh, UK and international industry to assist in the delivery of student placements, graduate opportunities, development of entrepreneurial activity and the wider development of students' employability.

  • Co-ordinate the Study Abroad exchange programme for the Faculty in collaboration with the International Development Office and relevant academic leads.
