Full Job Description

We are seeking a skilled General Builder/ Brick Mason to join our team. You will be responsible for constructing and repairing walls, floors, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other materials. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work with various tools and equipment.

Duties:

- Lay bricks or other materials to construct or repair walls, floors, fireplaces, chimneys, and other structures

- Measure and cut bricks to fit specific dimensions

- Mix mortar or other adhesives to secure bricks in place

- Use power tools and hand tools such as trowels, hammers, levels, and chisels

- Repair or replace damaged bricks or structures

- Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure projects are completed on time and according to specifications

- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear

Proficient in masonry techniques including bricklaying, blocklaying, and stonework

- Knowledge of different types of bricks, blocks, and mortar

- Ability to read blueprints and follow construction plans

- Experience using power tools such as saws and drills

- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision

- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods of time

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues on the job site

We're currently a smaller firm undertaking various types of jobs including house extensions, renovations, hard landscaping and groundworks. Most tools are provided but feel free to bring your own. Works van will get you to and from site from the business address unless right candidate requires a vehicle.

Note: This is a paid position. The salary will be commensurate with experience.
